Heavy rains wreak havoc in Kashmir, disrupting normal life

A heavy spell of incessant rain has created havoc in several parts of Kashmir while the Meteorological Department predicted more precipitation during the next 24 hours.

Despite assurances from the local administration that the water levels are below the danger mark, the continuous downpour led to widespread disruption.

Moderate to heavy rainfall since Sunday evening inundated roads and low-lying areas in Kashmir, while schools in Kupwara were ordered to close.

Additionally, higher reaches experienced a fresh spell of snowfall, further disrupting normal life and bringing down temperatures.
