Kashmiri students subjected to violence by extremist Hindus at Chandigarh college

Kashmiri students in an Indian college in Chandigarh were assaulted by extremist Hindus, triggering protests on campus, Kashmir Media Service reported.

The incident occurred after a female Kashmiri student was harassed by non-local Hindutva students, leading to a complaint to the college committee.

However, no action was taken, and the situation escalated, culminating in non-local students beating Kashmiri students, the news outlet reported.

The inaction of the authorities led to widespread discontent and protests on campus by Kashmiri students demanding accountability from the institute administration and law enforcement agencies.

India has witnessed a growing trend of hate crimes, particularly targeting Muslims and ethnic minorities, under the Government of Modi and driven by a domineering Hindutva Nationalism.
