Misbah Al-Hussein Foundation records an active presence in the UNDP workshop on achieving peace and community cohesion

The Misbah Al-Hussein Foundation for Relief and Development participated in the community workshop held by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)in the holy city of Karbala, which emphasized the role of non-governmental organizations in consolidating national frameworks for the values of peace, stability and community cohesion.

In a statement received by Shia Waves News Agency, the Foundation said: “The workshop was held under the title (The Role of Non-Governmental Organizations in Promoting Community Cohesion) at the invitation of the Office of the Assistant Country Director of the United Nations Development Program, Dr. Ali Kamouna.”

The statement continued, “The workshop included a number of active civil society organizations in Iraq, and was attended by officials and activists, including the Governor of Karbala, Eng. Nussayif Al-Khattabi.”

It added, “The important meeting took place in which discussions, and exchange of visions, ideas, and experiences took place among the participating organizations, in a way that enhances the role of non-governmental organizations in consolidating national frameworks for the values of peace, stability, and societal cohesion.”

The statement indicated that “the director of the Misbah Al-Hussein Foundation, Abdul Sahib Al-Kishwan, reviewed the latest activities and projects of the foundation, especially the strategic ones.”
