Karbala government declares six-day holiday on the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)

The local government of the holy province of Karbala has declared a six-day holiday, starting next Sunday, on the occasion of the Arbaeen anniversary of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

A statement issued by the governor’s office, received by Shia Waves News Agency, stated that “while the governor of Karbala, Engineer Nassif Al-Khattabi, expresses his thanks and appreciation to all the people of Holy Karbala and all processions, security and service forces, it was decided to declare the holiday of the blessed Arbaeen Pilgrimage.”

It added, “It was decided that the local holiday would start from Sunday (9/11/2022) until Thursday (9/15/2022), with the exception of security and service institutions.”

The statement explained that “disrupting the official working hours comes in order to implement the security and service plans and open the doors for the people of Holy Karbala to host the millions visiting Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).”
