Blood bank in Karbala launches blood donation campaigns ahead of Arbaeen Pilgrimage

Today, Tuesday, the Holy Karbala Health Department confirmed the continuation of its humanitarian campaigns to donate blood, to meet the necessary needs during the Arbaeen Pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

The department said in a statement received by Shia Waves News Agency: “The main blood bank in the province collected yesterday 1200 blood bags of various types donated by citizens and pilgrims as part of the special campaign for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage.”

It added: “Blood donation campaigns will continue, whether in the permanent headquarters of the blood bank in the area between the two Holy Shrines, or the main center.”

The statement explained that “The blood bags collected will be used to enhance the balance of the bank and health institutions and meet the needs during the commemoration of the blessed Arbaeen Pilgrimage, and to meet the needs of patients with thalassemia, leukemia and severe cases.”

The Health Department calls on citizens and pilgrims to donate blood, especially from negative and rare types.
