Misbah Al-Hussein Foundation honors mayors of Al-Hurr District in Karbala

Misbah Al-Hussein Foundation for Relief and Development in the holy province of Karbala honored a number of mayors of Al-Hurr District, for their great cooperation in the success of its humanitarian project – the Charter for the Protection of Orphans in Iraq.

The Foundation, which is under the auspices of the office of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi in Karbala, held a festive ceremony to honor the district’s mayors, while appreciating their support in providing it with the necessary data and information concerning the number of orphans in the district and their needs; in order to submit it to government agencies, along with the number of orphans in various Iraqi provinces.

The Foundation stressed the importance of preserving the dignity of the orphan segment in Iraq, by enacting the necessary laws to care for them, as well as establishing a special body for them to provide the appropriate environment and decent living for them and their families.

The participants in the ceremony said, “The legal and religious responsibility requires that we do justice to this important social group, take full care of it, and push the official authorities in Iraq to support the draft charter for the protection of orphans, which aims to legislate laws and establish special bodies that guarantee the provision of care.”

Certificates of thanks and appreciation were given at the end of the blessed ceremony, by the director of the Foundation, His Eminence Sheikh Mustafa al-Mohammadi, to the district mayors, to thank them for their continuous cooperation with the Foundation and for striving for the success of its largest humanitarian project.
