New courtyard of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to be partly open for pilgrims on Arbaeen Pilgrimage

The Department of Engineering and Technical Projects at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announced the continuation of work on the Al-Aqeela Zainab Courtyard Project, which is located within the expansion project of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, peace be upon him, pointing to the development of a plan to open a service part of the courtyard during the upcoming Arbaeen Pilgrimage.

Mahdi al-Qazwini, an engineer in the Engineering and Technical Projects Department, said that “the engineering and technical staffs are continuing their work on the Al-Aqeela Zainab Courtyard Project, which is the first phase of the expansion of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine.

He explained that “the department’s management has developed a plan to open a service side to be at the service of pilgrims during the upcoming Arbaeen Pilgrimage.”

He added that “mechanical and electrical works, camera systems, fire and extinguishing systems, in addition to other works are being carried out according to specific plans.”

Al-Qazwini pointed out that “part of the open courtyard will enter the finishing phase, which includes laying the floor with marble.”
