The police in Najaf have announced a comprehensive security and organizational plan for the annual pilgrimage marking the martyrdom of Muslim ibn Aqil (peace be upon him), the emissary of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), ensuring smooth access for pilgrims without any road closures.

Colonel Mufid Salem Al-Taher, the official spokesperson for Najaf police, stated that the plan has been coordinated with various security and service units to provide a safe environment for visitors and the associated Hussaini processions. He added that the strategy includes security, organizational, and traffic management measures, as well as civil defense coordination with the Imam Ali combat unit and intelligence agencies to protect pilgrims and maintain orderly movement within the city and surrounding areas.

The plan divides the Kufa Police Directorate into three security sectors to enhance field deployment and streamline duties during the pilgrimage. Major General Mohammad Jaber Dhiab Al-Fatlawi, commander of Najaf police, will personally oversee the implementation and monitor its progress.

Authorities confirmed that both main and secondary roads will remain open to citizens and pilgrims, in coordination with relevant departments and the Hussaini rituals committee, ensuring easy access to the holy sites.

Najaf annually receives large numbers of visitors for this commemoration, with security and service arrangements aimed at facilitating safe and smooth participation in religious rituals while preserving order and accessibility throughout the city.
