———————————-
Officials from the Shirazi World Center, accompanied by Hujjat al-Islam Sheikh Saleh Sibaway, met with the Iraqi Consul General in Montreal and the Iraqi Ambassador in Ottawa to discuss the challenges facing the Iraqi and broader Islamic community in Canada.
The meetings focused in particular on the rights and difficulties faced by Iraqi women living in Canada.
Sheikh Saleh Sibaway presented the Shirazi World Center’s proposed initiatives and solutions to address these concerns, while the Iraqi diplomats expressed their readiness to cooperate and follow up on the identified issues.
Participants also discussed the situation of Iraqi youth and adolescents, including the social and cultural challenges threatening their well-being and identity in the diaspora.
Both sides agreed to maintain regular coordination between the Shirazi World Center and the Iraqi Embassy in Canada to develop practical measures for supporting the community.
At the conclusion of the meetings, the delegation presented the Iraqi Ambassador with a copy of “Islam and Politics”, authored by Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, as a token of scholarly and cultural exchange.
