First International Conference Honoring Mirza Naeini Opens in Najaf

The first international conference commemorating the renowned scholar Mirza Mohammad Hossein Naeini has begun in the holy city of Najaf.

The event is being held with the broad participation of religious scholars, researchers, and seminary students from Iraq and abroad, under the patronage of the holy shrines of Imam Ali and Imam Hussein (peace be upon them both).

During the conference’s academic sessions, participants are examining Mirza Naeini’s intellectual and jurisprudential legacy, including his role in developing modern methods of ijtihad and addressing the intellectual and political challenges of his era.

The conference also highlights the role of the Najaf seminary in strengthening independent research and deepening academic ties with the seminary in Qom. Discussions included proposals for expanding research collaboration and postgraduate studies in the fields of jurisprudence and principles of Islamic law.
