One Hundred Days After Suwayda Disaster: Over 127,000 Families Still Displaced

One hundred days after the tragic events in Suwayda Province, Syria, which took place in July, more than 127,000 families from 36 affected villages remain displaced and are living in difficult humanitarian conditions without adequate shelter.

As reported by the Shia Waves Agency, the conflicts between security forces affiliated with the Al-Jolani government and tribal groups resulted in the destruction of dozens of villages. Schools and government buildings have been converted into temporary accommodation centers for the displaced.

The situation for these internally displaced persons (IDPs) has been severely worsened by critical shortages. These include a lack of fuel, electricity and water outages, soaring rental costs, and the non-payment of employee salaries, compounding the already dire humanitarian crisis.
