The Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service has conducted a major counter-terrorism operation, resulting in a “heavy blow to ISIS.” The operation spanned four provinces: Nineveh, Kirkuk, Salah al-Din, and Sulaymaniyah, and led to the arrest of 11 members of the extremist group.

According to a report from the Shia Waves Agency, citing Al Jazeera, the operations also involved the identification and destruction of several tunnels and hideouts used by ISIS remnants throughout Iraq. The Iraqi government’s official statement confirmed that these actions were carried out in coordination with the National Intelligence Service and were based on judicial orders.
