According to an article from the Iqna.ir news agency, Abdulzahra Al-Tamimi, a professor at Ibn Rushd University of Baghdad, has stated that the legacy of Imam Hussein’s (peace be upon him) stand against injustice continues to inspire a global fight against falsehood. Al-Tamimi believes that the annual Arbaeen pilgrimage to Karbala is a physical representation of this uprising, attracting people from all faiths.

The professor noted that the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) during the 7th-century Battle of Karbala was a firm refusal to submit to oppression, which keeps the spirit of fighting falsehood alive in Muslims. He added that this event ensures that Muslims remain a source of fear for tyrants.

Al-Tamimi also highlighted that the Arbaeen walk helps to create a modern Islamic identity through social unity and noble objectives. He praised Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) as a unique global figure respected by both Muslims and non-Muslims, as his struggle strengthens the humanity in all people.
