Over 3 Million Iranian Pilgrims Enter Iraq for Arbaeen in 20 Days
………………..
Iranian media report that more than three million Iranian pilgrims have crossed official border points into Iraq within 20 days to take part in the Arbaeen commemoration of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), held on the 20th of Safar.
Border security remains stable, with strict field measures ensuring smooth and safe crossings. No major disturbances have been recorded.
Officials describe this number as a record high for Arbaeen participation. The strong security presence from both Iran and Iraq has helped maintain order at the busiest official crossings.
Pilgrims typically visit the shrines of the two Imams Al-Askari (peace be upon them) in Samarra before continuing to the holy city of Karbala, home to one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.
