Over 250 Iraqi Institutes Participate in National Quran Plan for Arbaeen Pilgrimage
————————————–
A large-scale national Quran plan has been launched in Iraq, involving over 250 Quranic institutions, to serve the millions of pilgrims undertaking the Arbaeen procession, Iqna.ir reported. This initiative, considered the most extensive Quranic activity along the pilgrimage route, is a collaborative effort between the Dar-ol-Quran of the Astan of Imam Ali (AS) Holy Shrine and the Iraqi Quranic Union.
The plan is being implemented across 250 Quranic stations located in 12 Iraqi provinces. It commenced in Basra province under the slogan “From the sea to the river,” accompanying pilgrims from southern Iraq all the way to Karbala. More than a thousand male and female Quran instructors are participating, with a key focus on correcting the recitation of Surah Fatiha and other short Surahs for pilgrims.
The Astan of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) Holy Shrine has significantly supported this endeavor by donating over 150,000 gifts to pilgrims and providing extensive logistical assistance. The primary goals of this comprehensive plan are to disseminate Quranic culture among the pilgrims, emphasize correct Quran recitation, and teach prayer. The initiative is scheduled to continue until August 12, just ahead of the Arbaeen religious event on August 14, which commemorates the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
