Construction has commenced on the largest border guesthouse in Diyala province, strategically located near the Mandali-Khusravi border crossing with Iran, to accommodate hundreds of thousands of pilgrims attending the Arbaeen pilgrimage. The Diyala Provincial Council announced the initiative, which aims to alleviate congestion and enhance services for those entering Iraq for the annual commemoration of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

Raad al-Tamimi, a member of the Diyala Provincial Council, stated that engineering teams are working around the clock on the project. Once completed, this guesthouse will serve as a crucial service and logistical hub, streamlining the movement of pilgrims from the border to the holy cities.

It is anticipated that between 500,000 to 700,000 pilgrims will utilize the Mandali-Khusravi crossing within the next two weeks, making the construction of this complex a vital step in facilitating their journey.
