Iraq’s Babylon Holds Muharram Quranic Gatherings

The Scientific Quran Assembly of the Custodianship of Abal-Fazl al-Abbas’s (peace be upon him) holy Shrine has organized a series of Muharram Quranic gatherings across several districts in Iraq’s Babylon Governorate, Iqna.ir reported. These events are part of the Assembly’s annual efforts to revive Muharram rituals and promote Quranic culture within the community.

Sayed Montazer Meshaikhi, director of the Holy Quran Institute in Babylon, announced the initiative, noting the institute’s cooperation in organizing the gatherings. An equipped hall with full amenities has been prepared to host participants, ensuring a conducive environment for the events.

The Quranic gatherings are scheduled to continue for seven nights. During this period, various Quranic and intellectual topics are discussed and explored with the participation of seminary professors. The programs also include mourning rituals commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) alongside Quran recitations.

These activities form part of the wider scope of the Scientific Quran Assembly’s programs during the lunar Hijri month of Muharram. The Assembly aims to enhance religious and cultural awareness in society through these events, which blend spiritual reflection with educational dialogue.
