Iraqi Prime Minister Declares ISIS No Longer a Threat
In a significant statement, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced that remnants of the ISIS terrorist group no longer pose a threat to Iraq, INA reported on Sunday.
This declaration followed a meeting with Major General Kevin C. Leahy, Commander of the Global Coalition against Daesh in Iraq, and the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq.
The discussions centered on the ongoing technical dialogue aimed at concluding the Coalition’s mission in Iraq and fostering a framework for bilateral relations with member states. Al-Sudani emphasized that ISIS has been reduced to isolated groups hiding in remote areas, avoiding capture. He reassured that the Iraqi armed forces are actively conducting military operations to locate and eliminate any remaining terrorists.
