Pakistan: Shia Religious Schools Conference Calls for Educational Reform
————————–
The Wifaq-ul-Madaris al-Shia Pakistan held a conference in Skardu, Baltistan, bringing together religious school administrators and scholars to discuss improving Hawza education and training qualified teachers in Quranic studies and the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
Participants highlighted concerns about a potential shortage of specialized religious educators and called for identifying talented students early and preparing them for teaching careers. The conference also reviewed the association’s examination and certification system and discussed expanding cooperation among religious institutions.
The event included the opening of a regional office in Skardu and the appointment of Maulana Muhammad Jawad Hafezi as the association’s representative in Baltistan.
