The Central Council of Muslims in Germany has called for broad participation in “Open Mosque Day,” set to take place on October 3. The annual event aims to foster dialogue, promote mutual understanding, and counter rising hate speech and societal division.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the Council emphasized the importance of such initiatives in challenging stereotypes and showcasing the true role of Muslim communities in Germany.
This year’s theme, “Religion and Ethics – Faith as a Compass for Humanity,” highlights the value of religious principles in promoting compassion, justice, and solidarity.
Mosques across the country are encouraged to welcome visitors, host cultural and educational programs, and involve youth and women to reflect inclusive civic engagement.
