Journalist Death Toll in Yemen Rises to 14 After Israeli Strikes on Media Institutions

At least 14 journalists have been killed in Yemen following Israeli airstrikes that hit media institutions in the capital, Sanaa, and the northern city of Al-Jawf, according to Yemeni sources. The September 10 strikes left a total of 46 people dead and 165 others injured, while dozens of journalists and civilians remain missing beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings.

The attacks reportedly targeted offices of several media outlets, including 26 September newspaper, Al-Yemen newspaper, and the state-run Saba News Agency. Among the victims were reporters, photographers, and media staff, with some survivors in critical condition.

Rescue teams have been working for days to recover bodies and assist the wounded amid fears the casualty toll could rise further. The Yemeni Journalists’ Syndicate strongly condemned the strikes, labeling the targeting of media offices and civilian areas as a “war crime.” It called for an urgent international investigation and accountability for those responsible.
