New book on Shi’a community in Pakistan released in holy city of Karbala
……………….
A new book documenting the Shi’a community in Pakistan has been released in the holy city of Karbala. Titled “The Shi’a in Pakistan”, the work is authored by Iraqi writer and researcher Saeed Rasheed Zamzam, who based the book on four field visits to various cities across Pakistan.
According to the author, the book explores the religious and social traditions of Pakistan’s Shi’a community and presents a series of interviews with religious and social figures from various sects. The aim is to offer a comprehensive picture of coexistence, identity, and the challenges faced by Shi’as in the country.
The publication marks the 110th entry in Zamzam’s growing body of printed and manuscript works, which span topics in religion, history, and society. His works have been published in several cities including Beirut, Qom, Baghdad, and Karbala.
This latest addition is considered an important contribution to the field of Shi’a studies, offering on-the-ground insight and field-based sources. It comes at a time of growing need for in-depth research into the evolving religious and social landscapes of Muslim communities outside the Arab world.
