Trump Announces Strike on Iranian Nuclear Sites, Iran Warns of “Permanent Consequences”

The United States has directly entered the ongoing confrontation between Israel and Iran after U.S. President Donald Trump announced early Sunday that an airstrike had been carried out targeting three of Iran’s most prominent nuclear facilities: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The president confirmed that the operation was executed without any losses among American forces.

Trump wrote on his “Truth Social” platform that American bombers had dropped a full load of bombs, including six bunker-busting bombs each weighing 15 tons, before the aircraft safely exited Iranian airspace. He described the operation as “historic,” carried out by “great warriors.”

According to American media sources, including “Fox News,” the attack involved six B2 stealth bombers along with the launch of 30 Tomahawk missiles from U.S. submarines, targeting the Natanz and Isfahan facilities, in close coordination with Israel.

In response, Iran announced that its nuclear facilities had been subjected to simultaneous airstrikes, confirming the activation of air defense systems in Isfahan and Kashan, while loud explosions were heard in a number of vital locations. Iranian media reported that some nuclear materials had been transferred from the targeted sites in advance.

Iran warned of the “permanent consequences” of the American attacks, deeming the actions a “blatant violation” of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the Non-Proliferation Treaty, affirming that it reserves all options to respond to this attack.

The Israeli military declared a state of high alert, implementing a policy of “necessary action,” which included suspending education, closing public facilities, and preparing for any potential Iranian response.

This escalation follows roughly a week after intensive Israeli strikes targeted Iranian nuclear facilities and military bases, to which Tehran retaliated by launching ballistic missiles and drones into Israel’s interior, marking the largest direct confrontation between the two sides to date amid faltering diplomatic efforts to revive negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program.
