Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, has hosted the first-ever Islamic World Cultural Forum under the theme “Preservation and Revival of Cultural Heritage in the Post-Conflict Period,” Azernews reported. The opening session gathered international experts and professionals specializing in cultural heritage preservation.
The forum aims to protect and restore cultural heritage sites damaged or threatened in post-conflict areas while promoting enhanced cooperation among Islamic countries in this field.
One of the main panels, titled “Implementing International Protection Mechanisms in Practice: Examples of Cultural Heritage in the Islamic World During the Post-Conflict Period,” will showcase successful restoration initiatives, legal frameworks, and institutional strategies from different countries.
Another panel, “Reviving Cultural Heritage: Technology, Innovation, and Digitalization,” will discuss the role of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and 3D modeling in documenting and preserving cultural sites.
