Martyred and wounded civilians in explosion targeting the Ashura ceremony in Kabul

At least 12 people were martyred and 28 others were wounded, as a result of the bombing of the Ashura ceremony in the west of the Afghan capital, Kabul.

No one has claimed responsibility for the bombing.

The spokesman of the Kabul police, Khalid Zadran, said in a brief statement that the blast was caused by placing explosives on the side of the road, causing the martyrdom and wounding of several civilians, without specifying the exact number.

On the other hand, eyewitnesses said that the explosion took place during the Ashura ceremony in Kabul’s Bolshata area, killing 18 people and wounding another 28.

A similar explosion on Friday in Kabul killed eight people and wounded 18 others near the Shia Mosque.
