Clashes Over Gold Mine Leave Six Dead in Afghanistan’s Takhar Province
……….

At least six people were killed and 16 others wounded during renewed clashes over a gold mining site in Chah Ab district, Takhar province, northeastern Afghanistan, local sources reported to Amu TV. The violence involved residents, Taliban forces, and workers from a Taliban-linked mining company.

Protests began on Friday as locals raised concerns over environmental damage, destruction of farmland, and the extraction of gold without sharing revenues with the community. During the unrest, protesters briefly seized control of several mining operations, setting fire to equipment and tents, before Taliban forces cordoned off parts of the site in an area known as Samti Block One.

The six casualties included five local residents and one mining company employee. Taliban authorities have not issued any official statement regarding the incident, and the security situation in the district remains tense.
