According to Shia Waves Persian, Shi‘a residents of Daikundi Province in Afghanistan used personal funds—amounting to six million Afghanis—to build a girls’ school in the village of Ghasur.
The school was inaugurated on Wednesday in a ceremony attended by Taliban officials and Shi‘a community elders, indicating official acknowledgment of the initiative.
One of the project’s coordinators, Seyyed Mohammad Hashemi, stated that local residents contributed stone, dirt, and money toward the project. He further emphasized that students previously lacked adequate shelter for learning.
During the ceremony, Taliban officials described the initiative as a honor, and pledged to provide support for the school.
The report also notes that girls beyond sixth grade remain deprived of education in Afghanistan, highlighting the significance of this girls’ school initiative.
