Deadly Blast in Faryab Province Kills Four Afghan Children

In a tragic incident, four young children were killed by an unexploded ordnance in Faryab province, Afghanistan on Sunday, Amu TV reported yesterday.

According to Taliban officials, the explosion occurred in the Pashtun Kot district, in the village of Dahan Dara.

The victims, three boys and one girl between the ages of six and seven, had come across the unexploded device in a water channel and were playing with it when it detonated after they struck it with a stone.

The ongoing issue of leftover ordnance from years of conflict continues to endanger Afghan civilians, especially children, with dozens killed and hundreds injured annually by such explosive remnants.
