A spokesman for Balkh Province, Adel Shah Adel, said in a statement that the Taliban militants launched an attack on a police station in the Kishinda district of the state.
The Afghan official confirmed that the attack resulted in the killing of four security men and the wounding of two others.
There was no immediate statement from the Taliban about the attack.
