Husseiniyat, or places where mourning ceremonies for the Ahlulbayt are held, in the Saudi city of al-Ahsa announced their intention to implement some conditions and recommendations of the Ministry of Health for those who want to attend mourning ceremonies in the month of Muharram.

The Husseiniyat affirmed, that they are committed to measuring the temperature and sterilizing the hands of mourners before their entry, and that the number of attendees within a Husseiniyah does not exceed 50 persons, while keeping the two-meter social distance. In addition, minors under fifteen will not allowed to enter, everyone must wear masks at all time and there will be no tea, meals, or any other distribution within the Husseiniyah.

Regarding the mourning ceremonies held in the same neighborhood, it was recommended that ceremonies are to be held simultaneously to reduce crowding.

Some Husseiniyat announced that attendance to the Husseiniyah will be by registration via an electronic link, and the person will be notified of the night designated for him to attend.
