The town of Kharayeb, in southern Lebanon, witnessed the first mourning procession to receive the blessed month of Muharram and the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein, his companions and his family, peace be upon them, in the Battle of al-Taff.

A large crowd of followers of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, participated in the procession, which included the rituals of chest beating and reenactments to embody the painful tragedy of al-Taff.

Various cities in the Islamic and non-Islamic world are witnessing mourning processions to revive the tragic martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, which comes this year amid exceptional circumstances due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
