The Ministry of Internal Affairs said that the gunmen attacked a police checkpoint in the Goldara area of Kabul, killing three people, and four policemen were reportedly wounded in the attack, but the ministry did not confirm that number.
Local Afghan officials said that the Taliban had killed four members of one family, including a tribal sheikh in Maidan Wardak province on Friday, according to the Afghan TV channel Talao News.
The incident happened in Shak district after the Taliban “shot the tribal sheikh, his wife, son and grandson, according to Moheb Sharif Zai, a spokesman for the provincial governor. The officials gave no further details. However, the Taliban denied their involvement in the incident, saying that people were killed near a government checkpoint.
On the other hand, 11 fighters loyal to the Afghan government were killed in a roadside bomb explosion in northern Afghanistan when a truck passed before dawn yesterday.
