About 3,000 Shia fighters have arrived in Ramadi to help defend Ramadi city against an offensive by IS terrorists.

This is come after the deputy head of the Anbar Provincial Council, Falih Essawi, warned that Ramadi could fall to the IS terrorists within hours.

Head of the Iraqi Parliament’s Security and Defense Committee Hakem al-Zameli said the situation in Anbar province is under control.

Hakem al-Zameli said that dismissed media reports claiming that IS terrorists made gains in the province as an IS attempt to break the Iraqi forces’ morals.

Earlier on Friday, Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri, former Iraqi general and Vice Chairman of the Iraqi Revolutionary Command Council, was killed during an Operation by Iraqi popular forces in Salahuddin province in Iraq.

Al-Douri designed and led terrorist, specially the Al-Qaeda, operations in Iraq.
