Shias worldwide commemorate martyrdom anniversary of Imam Jafar al-Sadiq, peace be upon him

Shias around the world are commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Jafar al-Sadiq, peace be upon him.

Mourning ceremonies are being held in the holy shrines, Islamic centers, mosques, Husseiniyahs and offices of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi in Muslim as well as non-Muslim countries.

In addition, mourning processions are marching towards the holy shrines of the Infallible Imams, peace be upon them, to remember and preserve the Ahlulbayt school of thought.

Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad al-Sadiq is the sixth Imam. He is buried along with Imam al-Hassan, Imam al-Sajjad and Imam al-Baqir at the Baqi Cemetery in Medina.
