Historical Qur’an dating back 450 years found in a Turkish mosque


In a mosque in the Turkish city of Konya, fragments of a historical Qur’an dating back 450 years were found.
According to Turkish media, the Quran was found in the warehouse of the historical “Sultan Selim” mosque in the “Karabinar” area of the city of Konya.
The copy contains 10 parts from one of the historical Qur’anic copies dedicated by Sultan Selim II.
Cleric Yunus Aydin said, “We are surprised to find this Qur’an that contains the name of Sultan Selim II.”
He added, “We found 10 parts out of 30 parts, and we found the two covers of the Qur’an with a book ‘To the Karabinar Area’, by Sultan Selim II.”
Yunus Adin confirmed that the date of the scripture and its author has not yet been revealed.
