Iraqi intelligence troops arrested seven Daesh terrorists after storming their hotbed in the militant group’s previously-proclaimed capital city of Mosul.
“The militants were arrested in Rabia district, west of Mosul, with fake IDs in their possession as they just returned from Syria,” SNG News quoted the Iraqi Military Intelligence Directorate as saying in a press statement on Sunday.
“Four of those detained were senior members of Daesh’s so-called Jund (soldiers) Diwan,” the directorate said, adding that the arrests were made pursuant to article no. 4 of the anti-terrorism law.
Iraqi authorities regularly announce the capture of Daesh terrorists in different parts in the country since the collapse of the group’s so-called caliphate in the country in December 2017.
