The Afghan security forces have foiled militants bid to carry out two explosions in capital Kabul, the security authorities said Thursday.

The Kabul Police Commandment said an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was discovered and defused from the vicinity of the 5th police district of the city.
The IED was planted close to Koti Sangi roundabout on the side of Company main road, Kabul Police Commandment added.
Taliban and other militants often use IED as the weapon of their choice to target the security forces and government but in majority of such attacks ordinary civilians are targeted, besides such attacks often claims the lives of the militants as well.
In the meantime, the Kabul Police Commandment, said a magnetic bomb was discovered from a Toyota Land cruiser vehicle in Paghman district of Kabul and was defused before the militants manage to detonate it.
