Popular Mobilization Units have foil a massive attack carried out by the so-called Islamic State terrorists that targeted south-west the holy city of Samara, Iraq.

Speaking to Dijlah TV, a security source said, “Two personnel of al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Units) were killed and four others injured in an armed confrontation with the so-called Islamic State terrorists in al-Farhatia district, southwest of Samarra.”

The clashes also left scores of the so-called Islamic State terrorists killed and wounded, according to the source.

The remaining ISIS terrorists left the scene immediately after the attack, he added.

Iraq declared the collapse of the so-called Islamic State’s territorial influence earlier in November with the recapture of Rawa, a city on Anbar’s western borders with Syria, which was the group’s last bastion in Iraq.
