Three civilians were wounded Sunday in a bomb blast near a Baghdad market, a security source was quoted as saying.
Speaking to Alghad Press, the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “An explosive charge went off near a busy street market at al-Fallahat village in al-Tarmiyah, north of Baghdad.”
“The explosion left three people wounded,” the source said, adding that the injured were moved to a nearby hospital for treatment, and security forces opened a probe into the incident.
The Iraqi capital has seen almost daily bombings and armed attacks against security members, paramilitary troops and civilians since the Iraqi government launched a wide-scale campaign to retake ISIS-occupied areas in 2016. Though most of the daily bombings go without a claim of responsibility, the so-called Islamic State has declared it had been behind many.
