UNAMI said the number of civilians killed in the month excluding police was 116 and 181 others not including police injured due to acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflict.
According to the UNAMI’s figures, Baghdad was the “worst affected governorate” with 180 civilian casualties.
Casualty figures in the country, which UNAMI recorded, showed 36 people were killed in the Nineveh Governorate and 18 were injured.
UNAMI cited Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) for Iraq Jan Kubis as saying, “ISIS terrorists have shown absolute disregard for human life.
