Provincial governor’s spokesman Omar Zwak confirmed the incident took place around 2 pm local time near Kabul Bank.
Provincial public health officials said at least 11 people were killed and more than 20 others were wounded in the attack.
Injured people including a woman and a child were transferred immediately to The Emergency Hospital in Helmand.
