Takfiri groups had planned to carry out a terrorist attack targeting pilgrims going from Balochistan province to Karbala, Iraq.
The plot was foiled after security forces in Quetta stopped and searched a suspected motorcycle parked on the path of the pilgrims on Monday night.
Shias in Pakistan have been the subject of numerous attacks, with the Pakistani faction of the Taliban and notorious terrorist group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi carrying out most of such assaults in the past.
