In Samarra, an ambulance was detonated in a car park for the al-Askariyain Holy Shrine, the shrines of the tenth and eleventh imams, peace be upon them. Iranian pilgrims were among the dead.
The so-called Islamic State (IS) group said it had carried out the attack.
The attack in the holy city of Samarra targeted Shia pilgrims.
