Seventy insurgents killed in Afghanistan operations
At least 70 Taliban fighters were killed and 15 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours, security officials said Sunday.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense (MoD), said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Kunar, Paktia, Paktika, Logar, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Badghis, Herat, Farah, Faryab, Baghlan, Kunduz and Helmand provinces. In these operations, more than 70 rebels were killed and 15 others were injured.
Afghan forces have arrested 20 insurgents and handed them over to judicial agencies for further inquiry.
