In the Indian city of Lucknow, Shia leaders, drawing inspiration from the teachings of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), have called for stronger political participation and the protection of the legal and social rights of the Shia community.
According to the Shia Waves Agency, speakers at the conference of the “All India Shia Personal Law Board” stressed the need for the enactment of strict laws against extrajudicial killings, the allocation of educational and employment quotas for Shias, and the acceleration of restoration work on historic religious endowments, including the Hussainabad complex.
Participants also called for the inclusion of the teachings of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in the national education system and for increased Shia political participation in national institutions.
