UN Secretary-General Extends Eid al-Adha Greetings, Expresses Solidarity
On Sunday, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres extended Eid al-Adha greetings, expressing solidarity with Muslims around the world who are unable to celebrate the holiday with their loved ones due to ongoing conflicts and violence, Anadolu Agency reported yesterday.
“This Eid Al-Adha, I extend my solidarity with all Muslims who, because of conflict, violence & division, will not be able to celebrate with their loved ones,” Guterres said on social media.
He expressed hope that the values of “solidarity & empathy” celebrated during Eid al-Adha, the Muslim holiday also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, will guide the world towards “compassion & peace for all.”
