A Glimpse into Recent Islamic Architectural Wonders
The realm of Islamic architecture continues to thrive, embracing contemporary advancements while honoring its rich heritage.
Imam Ali Mosque in Copenhagen, Denmark, is one of the most beautiful mosques in Europe and the largest mosque for Shias in Denmark. Completed in 2015, it seamlessly blends modern design with traditional elements, featuring a turquoise dome and two thirty-two-meter minarets. It was designed to stand out in Europe as a landmark of Shiite Islam and attract the community to Islamic activities held there on a regular basis.
Masjid Bab Al Salam situated in Muscat, Oman, was designed by Altqadum architectural firm. Completed in 2023, the mosque’s symbolic gateway features ornate Islamic calligraphy, majestic arches, and regal pillars, creating a spiritual prelude for visitors. It also features carved Quranic verses on the walkway. The site also boasts the tranquil lake, designed with Islamic geometry to reflect balance and peace.
