SRW Issues Statement Following Displacement of Over 25,000 Shia from West al-Assi Villages
The International Shia Rights Watch, affiliated with the World Foundation of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi, has issued a statement condemning the displacement of over 25,000 Shia individuals from the Syrian villages of West al-Assi by terrorist groups. The text of the statement is as follows:
The International Shia Rights Watch condemns the forced displacement of residents from the villages along the al-Assi River in the city of Homs, Syria. It calls on relevant international organizations to denounce these violations and hold terrorist groups accountable for their actions.
This organization has reviewed credible testimonies and reports indicating that more than 25,000 Shia citizens residing in the villages west of the al-Assi River in the Qusayr countryside of Homs province have been forced to seek refuge in Lebanon.
