Thousands of Shiites of Ahlul-Bayt start New Year at Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him

Large crowds of devotees of Ahlul-Bayt, peace be upon them, convened at the Holy Shrine of Aba Abdillah al-Hussein last night to begin their new year with the blessings of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.

Thousands of Individuals from Iraq and pilgrims and visitors from many countries chanted “Labbayka Ya Hussein” at the turn of the year to exhibit their love and loyalty to the Master of the Martyrs, and to plea for fulfilment of their Hajat, asking for health and prosperity in the New Year.

The Shia community traditionally spends the last moments of the year in blessed Shrines of Ahlul-Bayt and pray for the well-being and honourable reappearance of the Master of the Time, Imam al-Mahdi, may Allah hasten his reappearance.
