The Syrian Ministry of Health announced the lifting of the quarantine applied to the Sayyeda Zainab District in Damascus countryside, after ensuring that no new cases of coronavirus have been recorded since the beginning of May.
The Advisory Council at the Syrian Ministry of Health made the decision after completing the health and laboratory medical tests of the population in contact with the confirmed cases and neighborhoods. They ensured that no new infections with the virus have been recorded since May 2nd, according to the official Syrian government agency SANA.
In early April, the Syrian government had decided to isolate Sayyeda Zainab District and restrict movement in highly populated areas after the first infection with coronavirus was recorded in one of the buildings.
